WebThe name Photinia comes from the Greek word for shining, photeinos. These plants are native to eastern Asia, from the Himalayas east to Japan and south to northern Indochina. Photinia species are mostly small to medium-sized trees, growing to 5–20 m tall. They have simple, alternate leaves which are often serrated or toothed on the margins.
